Education & Training

An experienced legal and human rights professional with extensive service in Uganda’s justice and governance sector; Served as Vice Chairman and Legal Advisor of the Human Rights Network (HURINET) from 1995 to 1996, contributing to the coordination of NGOs working on human rights across the country. Has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) since 2000, supporting initiatives focused on combating drug abuse and promoting youth rights.

Previously worked as Director and Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Legal Aid Project of the Uganda Law Society from April 1994 to October 1999. Also served as Chairman of the Rule of Law Association.

Currently serves as Principal Legal Officer at the Uganda Amnesty Commission, where responsibilities include facilitating amnesty processes for former rebels who renounce violence, conducting prison visits, providing legal awareness, representing applicants in court, and sensitizing communities on the Amnesty process. Additionally, plays a key role in developing work plans and represents the Commission within the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS).
