Job summary
CECORE is seeking a motivated Program Officer to support the design, implementation and monitoring of our peacebuilding projects, with a focus on youth engagement, women’s participation and climate-security linkages. The successful candidate will work closely with district partners, community leaders and the CECORE programs team to ensure high-quality, conflict-sensitive programming and meaningful local ownership.

Key responsibilities
Support day-to-day implementation of assigned projects (planning, coordination, and reporting).
Facilitate community dialogues, trainings and capacity-building workshops for youth, women and local authorities.
Support baseline, monitoring and evaluation activities – collect data, prepare field reports and contribute to project learning products.
Ensure all activities are conflict-sensitive and gender-responsive; apply safeguarding principles in programme delivery.
Support partner coordination at district and sub-county levels and represent CECORE in technical working groups when required.
Draft clear, timely narrative and financial reports for donors and internal use.
Contribute to proposal development, activity budgets and project documentation.
Required qualifications & experience
Bachelor’s degree in Peace & Conflict Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations or a related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in program implementation in peacebuilding, community development or related sectors.
Demonstrable experience working with youth, women’s groups, and local government structures in Uganda.
Strong monitoring, evaluation and reporting skills.
Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of French or local languages is an advantage.
Proficient with MS Office and experience using simple data tools (Excel, Google Forms, KoboToolbox).
Preferred skills & personal attributes
Practical facilitation skills and experience delivering trainings and community dialogues.
Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple tasks under tight timelines.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
