Promoting evidence-based policy, inclusive participation and local ownership to prevent violent conflict and strengthen peace.
CECORE advocates for policies that connect local peacebuilding realities to national, regional and international decision-making – strengthening prevention, inclusion and sustainable peace.
CECORE uses research, grassroots evidence, and multi-stakeholder engagement to influence policy and practice on conflict prevention and peacebuilding. We combine community-led experience with national and regional advocacy to ensure policies reflect lived realities – especially for women, youth and communities affected by armed violence.
Our advocacy work covers small arms control, localisation of peacebuilding (SDG16+), inclusion of women and youth, climate-security linkages, and integration of peace into development practice. We convene networks, influence policy dialogues, and produce practical policy products that policymakers and practitioners can use.
Shift policy from reaction to prevention of armed conflict.
Localise national and global peace agendas (SDG16+).
Advance SALW control and safe management of arms.
Increase women’s & youth’s meaningful participation in peace processes.
Integrate climate-security concerns into peace and development planning.
Strengthen multistakeholder coordination across local → national → regional levels.
CECORE engages communities, district focal points and policymakers to reduce the misuse of small arms through awareness, policy reviews and partnerships with regional networks and research partners.
We promote localisation of SDG16+ by translating national indicators into local actions, conducting country reviews and producing toolkits that help local actors track progress on peace, justice and inclusion.
Programs and advocacy that strengthen women’s participation (e.g., RRW-WPHF projects), empower youth as Peace Champions, and ensure policy frameworks include gender and youth priorities.
We document and advocate around climate-security risks – piloting local risk assessments and practical guidance (e.g., Kaabong case study) so that climate action and peacebuilding are aligned.
CECORE produces baseline studies, PBAR/PBAR summary notes, strategic plans and policy briefs to support evidence-based advocacy and policymaking.
